Brian Stevens - Percussion Caption Head

Brian Stevens graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Music Performance. While at Southern Miss, he studied under Dr. John Wooton and performed with the University Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band.

Mr. Stevens is now in his eighth year as the Director of Percussion at Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, TX. During that time, the marching band has been a consistent BOA Regional Finalist, three time Regional Champion, two time Super-Regional finalist, and two time Grand National Finalist, finishing 5th in 2002 and 4th in 2004. The marching band has also been a two time UIL-Area Champion and four time UIL-State Marching Band Contest participant. During this same time period, the SFA Honors Band has been a two time participant at the BOA National Concert Band Festival (1999 and 2005) and the Symphony Orchestra has performed at Carnegie Hall and was selected to present a concert at the 2003 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.

Mr. Stevens was a two year marching member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He also taught with the Phantom Regiment as well as the Magic of Orlando. In 2006, Mr. Stevens was the Percussion Caption Head of the Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
